"I believe firmly in the transformative power of narrative. What's the story?" |
Garrett Michael McCann (he/him) is a theatre artist and director based in Chicago. A graduate of Coastal Carolina University, he recently served as the Assistant Artistic Director for Stage Left Theatre Company in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina where his responsibilities included directing main stage productions, teaching acting classes and youth education programs, and everything from selling tickets to sweeping up after. He has recently relocated to Chicago to grow his craft and take his storytelling to the next level.
He then attended Coastal Carolina University and received a B.A. in Dramatic Arts. He appeared in a couple productions at the university, A Midsummer Night's Dream, and Crimes of the Heart as Barnette Lloyd. But he spent a majority of his studies on directing, devising, movement, and playwriting. Garrett, along with his actress mother, helped create Stage Left Theatre Company in 2009. And after bouncing from conference room to event center, the company began performing monthly dinner theater at the historic Cooper House in Socastee, SC. Then, in July of 2013, the company moved to its permanent home in the Market Common district of Myrtle Beach. Garrett is proud of the work he has done with the company and grateful for the opportunity to invest in his craft and develop his aesthetic. He looks forward to his future and is excited for the opportunities ahead of him. Please poke around and don't forget to say hi! Thanks, ya'll! |
